PR to host surfing championship event

More than 50 of the world’s best surfers — including Kelly Slater and Taylor Knox — are for a major international surfing championship in Puerto Rico in October, officials said Wednesday. The 2010 Rip Curl Pro Search will be held in the U.S. Caribbean territory from October 30 to November 10, which marks the start of the island’s winter surfing season.
